Why Paint?
Behind the chair time is money. Foiling takes lots of time. Not to mention the tiny repetitive motions on our hands. This career is tough on our bodies and after two hand surgeries I've learned exactly what you can do to save your hands and your career.
Balayage is free hand painting but if you don't have a system and a pattern you will never be able to recreate the same thing.
Now I share my own method with simple patterns and a process that will work on any client every single time.
This is what you wish you would have learned in hair school to be successful at hair painting.

Three reasons you should paint instead of foil:

Healthier Hair
Foils keep in a lot of heat and keep processing until removed causing unnecessary damage. By using clay lightener and saran wrap you can control the temperature more and also see right through so you know when it's time to rinse.

Natural Looking
No more stripes. Lowlights are easy to add depth in a natural way not zebra stripes. Painting pattern is completely different and more natural. Looks more like the sun did it, not the salon.

Soft Regrowth
Clients want a soft grow out not foil lines growing down their head. Beware of "teasy-lights, baby lights, root smudges, etc." those foil lines are still there and will show up once the toner is gone. Ditch the foils and learn how to truly paint for a natural grow out!
